The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have risen the price of oil, the issue of finding alternative of fuel has come into sharp focus.

In an area that has among the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one service is benefiting from the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
